黄牛党（Scalper），广义来讲即非正式或非法的中介人，比如在合法销售途径以外垄断或销售商品以图利的中介人。“黄牛党”俗称“票贩子”。“票贩子”在北京行话叫“拼缝儿的”，而上海人称之为“黄牛党”，上海方言还称“打桩模子”，还有更形象的比喻把这类人称之为“票虫儿”。 黄牛党来源于20世纪公家发放粮票，有人倒卖，那个时期并不叫黄牛，只称呼倒票人，后来出现倒卖火车票，它的起源或在于描述一堆人在那里抢购物资或票券之场面，有如黄牛群之骚然，统一称为黄牛党。
