Figure 5-24 show photos of the cutting and packaging of the control rod guide tubes at Stade. Cut pieces were loaded into metal Konrad containers and cemented.

Large Component Preparation, Shipping, and Disposal
Waste Packaging
A large percentage of the Stade reactor internals was highly activated and required packaging in Mosaik Casks as shown in Figure 5-25. The Control Rod Guide Tubes were packaged in larger metal Konrad containers and then encapsulated in cement in a waste conditioning area.
